I’m A Celebrity’s Skye Wheatley hits back at ‘deal’ rumour with surprising revelation

EXCLUSIVE: The I’m A Celeb winner has slammed rumours she had a secret deal with the show to make it to the finale.

Reality star and influencer Skye Wheatley was crowned the winner of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last night, winning over Aussie fans with her humour, authenticity and willingness to do everything and anything during her time in the jungle.

In the week leading up to the finale, Daily Mail Australiareported thatSkye may have only agreed to go on the show if she knew she would win, according to a production insider. The insider claimed her time on the show was very carefully planned and she was assured she’d make it to the finale.

Now Skye has hit back at the claims, telling Yahoo Lifestyle that the rumour isn’t true, saying the rumour was “laughable”.

“That is brain-wrecking to me,” Skye laughed. “I don’t know where it [the rumours] start, I’d love to be there, like did you just make this up from nothing? I would love to be a fly on the wall.”

Skye went on to say when she first got the call-up, she actually offered to do the show for free.

“It’s laughable, it’s actually crazy, and I feel like I’m shocked. That’s actually madness because when they called me and said ‘Do you want to do the show?’ I said, ‘Babe, I’d do it for free!’. Which is crazy to me now. So I was like, what are these people talking about, because I said I’d do it for nothing!”

Skye deemed her time in the jungle as on the same level as childbirth, but that she has no regrets about entering the experience saying she “underestimated” herself.

“I truly underestimated how hard it would be it was honestly, the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life,” she said. “I would put it on the board as giving birth. It was very challenging, but, like, it’s so rewarding at the same time.

“When I was there during the trials, I was like, ‘Holy guacamole it is so intense!’ I didn’t get a break! I didn’t get a day off. But that’s the whole point of it, and I felt like I overcame so much being in the jungle,” she said.

“Me being proud of myself showed Australia they could be proud of me too. It feels really good, because it was a massive, massive achievement for me.”
